About Us
The Tigray Art Collective brings together artists who tell the stories and truths of our people, in our own unique voices. Weaving together a community of Tegaru creatives, we use art an effective instrument of advocacy to amplify awareness, inspire healing, and innovate creative realities for Tigray.
Founded by Mahder Tella and Gabrielle Tesfaye, the two artists dreamt of ways a connected collective of Tegaru artists could make change and amplify awareness of the Tigray genocide taking place in Ethiopia. The collective welcomes a range of visual mediums, including painting, digital art, film, sculpture, installation, fashion and more. The collective hosts a variety of different projects, ranging from art exhibitions, protest art, fundraiser events, multimedia art projects, public art and more.
